AUSTRALIAN ARMY MUSEUM OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA –COLLECTION POLICY

Our Mission is to tell the story of the Army in Western Australia, and Western Australians in the Army to the widest possible audience.

Please note that we only accept donations of weapons where they are particularly rare, or have significant provenance. If you have a weapon that you would like to donate, please contact us by phone or email before bringing it to the museum.

As a general rule, we only accept donations where they have a clear link to the Australian Army (not Navy, Air Force etc) and where there is a link to Western Australia.

Be aware that if you donate an item to us, it may remain in storage and may not be put on display. This may be because we have several examples of that item, or because we do not have display space available. If you have donated an item and would like to see that item, please contact us before coming to the museum.

Once you have donated an item, it becomes Commonwealth property. This means that it may be displayed, disposed of or destroyed if necessary. We will endeavour to contact you before disposing of an item, so please make sure your contact details are accurate on all paperwork.
