Planning Your Visit
The museum currently includes 5 main galleries plus there are various items on display around the main grounds. You should allow at least one and a half hours to ensure you gain the most from your visit, unless your visit is focused on only a specific aspect or period. Refer to further details on the Programs page.
There are extensive car parking facilities available within the parade ground area, including bus/coach parking on site. Your driver is invited to view the museum during the visit without cost.
Public Liability cover for all museum staff and visitors is provided by the Department of Defence through the Commonwealth Government provider up to an amount of $20,000,000. See Current Certificate here
The Army Museum of WA strongly recommends that your students are closely supervised by a member of your supervisory team at all times during their visit to the Artillery Barracks. Army Museum of WA staff will be allocated to your group/s to conduct your tour of the museum and assist you during your visit.
School Tours – Evacuation Procedures
- The tour takes place in a building with no interior corridors
- Tours are conducted by museum staff who carry radios
- Students receive a safety brief at the start of the tour which includes:
- Action in emergency
- Evacuation assembly point
